  Prompt Response:  This semester, I enjoyed the class discussions and readings. My favorite assignment was the identity mask project because it was fun to express myself. I connected most with poetry. One thing I want to improve next semester is making my writing clearer. Summary:  This class helped me become more comfortable sharing my ideas. The assignments and discussions made the lessons more interesting, and poetry stood out because it felt personal and creative. Reflection:  Next semester, I want to keep working on my writing and explaining my thoughts better. I feel more confident now and want to keep improving.

  Prompt Response:  At the end of the novel, Celie forgiving others and reconnecting with Nettie shows how forgiveness can bring peace. I’ve forgiven someone before, and it helped me let go of anger and move forward. Summary:  The ending shows that forgiveness helps people heal. Reflection:  The novel helped me understand that forgiveness can look different for different people, but it is still important.

Prompt: How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning.

  Prompt Response:  When I was younger, the holidays were mostly about gifts, food, and having fun. I didn’t worry about anything else. Now that I’m older, the holidays feel more stressful because of responsibilities, but they also feel more meaningful. Summary:  The holidays have changed from being carefree to more serious as I’ve grown up. Reflection:  Even though the holidays don’t feel as magical, I appreciate them more now because I understand what they really mean.

  Prompt Response:  A song that brings back a memory for me is “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey. Summary:  It reminds me of one night when I was in the car with my friend. We were just driving around and talking, and the song was playing. It wasn’t a big moment, but it felt really calm and nice. Reflection: This memory matters to me because it was simple, but it made me feel really relaxed and happy, and the song always brings that feeling back.

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

  Prompt Response:  The best gift I got was a journal from my mom. It helped me write down my feelings. Summary: The journal was the best gift because I used it a lot. It helped me understand my thoughts, and deal with stress.It meant a lot to me and became something really helpful in my life. Reflection:  This gift mattered because it helped me express myself in a healthy way.

  prompt response:  Today I found the letters Mister was hiding. I felt scared and angry at first. Reading them, I saw his mistakes and fears, and how he tried to control me. It made me feel sad but also stronger. summary:  Finding the letters changed how I see Mister and myself. I realized he isn’t perfect, and I can think for myself. I can make my own choices and speak my mind. This moment matters because it shows I don’t have to live in fear anymore. reflection:  It taught me I can stand up for myself and trust my own voice.
