Prompt: Why do you think filmmakers continue to use stereotypes, even when they can be harmful or inaccurate? Explain one reason discussed in class and give your opinion on whether this justifies their use.

Prompt Response : Filmmakers sometimes use stereotypes because it’s a quick way to help the audience understand a character without a lot of explanation.

Summary : In class, we discussed that stereotypes can make stories easier to write and faster for viewers to recognize different roles.

Reflection : I don’t think this really justifies using them, because even if it saves time, it can spread unfair ideas about groups of people and make those stereotypes seem real.
